A mixture of self-service and sit-in restaurant: Restaurant Thai Erawan – Bärengasse (6. January 2025)

| April 8, 2025 | 0 Comments

I’ve picked up lunch here a few times already, but never really took the option to sit down and have lunch onsite. Today was the day to try that. The process is the same as if you pick it up to go – you basically queue, and ask to eat it in, and the only difference is that you get it on a plate, and bring it to your table directly. I went for the “Pad Kra Pao with beef” (CHF 21.00), which was a very generous portion (I would prefer if they’d offer slightly smaller ones) and it was actually quite tasty.

The place itself is simple and functional, but doesn’t invite staying for a longer period of time. Service isn’t existent, since you’re basically getting your food, placing it on your table, and cleaning the table. But, the food is decent, the prices are superb, and it’s incredibly swift.
