A nice place I randomly walked into after it had been recommended to me: Restaurant La Fonda (28. February 2025)
I randomly passed by the La Fonda – and since the place had been recommended to me before, I figured it’s a good opportunity to give it a try. And, overall, I wasn’t disappointed. As a starter, I decided to try the “gamba roja” (EUR 16.95), which was absolutely enjoyable. A more general comment, but I’m always surprised how little to eat there actually is with these guys, but they are just so tasty.
The “duo de croquetas (pollo y parmesano trufado)” (EUR 7.15) was nice too – very simple, and, in the end, nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable.
What I definitely liked, but wasn’t too happy about the “size of the cuts” was the “jamón ibérico (con pan con tomate)” (EUR 14.95), which was delicious as always, and just as it should be.
Lastly, I decided to try the “paella de marisco” (EUR 16.75 per person), which was actually quite nice. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the seafood was nice as well. Sure, there could have been a little more of everything (besides the rice), but it was tasty.
The place is buzzing, so, booking a table in advance is something, I would highly recommend if you don’t want to be unlucky and wait (which some people arriving later had to). The staff is friendly, swift, and attentive, so, all in all, the La Fonda was a positive experience – and all of it for a reasonable price.
