30. January 2010: Restaurant Anema & Cozze

| January 31, 2010 | 0 Comments

The restaurant Anema & Cozze is located in the navigli grande towards Porta Genova (green metro line).

The place looks appealing from the outside and there were a lot of people already dining, so taking this as a good sign, it was definitely worth trying it. The inside is quite nice too. It’s a bit cold from the design point of view but still you feel comfortable right away. What could definitely be improved though is the light – if it’ll be scaled down a bit and not set that bright, it’d definitely feel better.

The waiters are really nice and helpful and serve you with the menu right away. After a short selection time (for non-Italian speakers it’s definitely recommendable to ask for the English menu – especially when you’re not having such a profound knowledge in Italian seafood words) the orders are taken and the drinks are served within reasonable time.

As a starter we had Bruschette with three different toppings (tomatoes; beans & common mussel; pulpo) which were quite delicious.

As a main course I had a pizza with smoked fish and rucola – it didn’t have cheese nor tomato as a basis but it was astonishingly good for being the first pizza without tomato and cheese. Definitely recommendable to try out!

All in all, the dishes were good and you had enough after a starter and a main course. What comes in addition is the good price-performance ratio. The waiters are nice, helpful, fast, the food is good and comparably cheap and the place is centrally located and has a nice atmosphere. Definitely a good place to go in the navigli!
