18. July 2012: Restaurant Café Midi
The grilled salmon with mixed salad on house-made lemon vinaigrette and fresh bread (EUR 13.90) was a pleasent surprise. The salmon was fresh and juicy and the lemon vinaigrette was very refreshing. The mixed salad was not too mixed though – it was more different kinds of green salad and a few tomatoes.
The service is very friendly but not attentive at all – waving for about 10 minutes finally had its effect and we were successfully able to order. The prices are fair (for the dishes) and also for the drinks (a bottle of Appolinaris, 0,75L costs EUR 5.80; a bottle Montepulciano EUR 19.80).
What is especially nice about the restaurant is the fact that it is outside and located right next to the “cathedral” of Bonn – great view in the evening. The place is pretty cosy – only the covers when it gets cold are missing.
In any case, if the weather is good, the Restaurant Café Midi is a nice place to go – if you are patient and able to wait a few minutes before the waitress realises that new guests have arrived.
