20. August 2012: Restaurant Los Bisquets Bisquets Obregon
As a starter, I had a “Sope especial Bisquet – consomé con pollo y huevo picado, cubierto con queso gratinado” (40.50 MXN). The chicken and cheese in the soup were quite good – but the soup itself was pretty disappointing and if it was not for the lemon to be put in it, it would definitely not have been what you wanted to eat.
For a main course, I had the “Combinación Mexicana – deliciosas puntas de res al chilpotle acompanadas de arroz, frijoles refritos, guacamole y una enchilada” (115 MXN) which was way better. The beef cubes were absolutely delicious, the rice pretty average, the frijoles (beans) quite okay and the enchilada good again. Overall, quite a heavy but rich dish after which you would definitely be satisfied.
The serivce our waiter, Emanuele Garcia Venegas, provided was good – he was very friendly, helpful and quick. Just what you actually want people to serve you like. Only the tortillas we had ordered could have been served a tiny bit quicker – other than that, all good. The prices for the dishes are more than fair and the prices for the drinks (Limonada Natural; 20 MXN / Cola Zero; 23.50 MXN) are absolutely okay too. The place itself is quite okay – nothing outstanding but also nothing too shabby.
If you look for cheap but quite good Mexican food in a restaurant, you can definitely go to the Restaurant Los Bisquets Bisquets Obregon. The real Mexican food on the street is still way better and cheaper though.
