24. – 27. August 2012: Restaurant Sea Breeze

| September 2, 2012 | 0 Comments

Mexican breakfast with intercontinental elements is what you get at the Restaurant Sea Breeze. The buffet selection (400 MXN per person) ranges from cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit, different kinds of bread, yoghurts to cereals but …

… also has an omelet station where pretty tasty omelets and other kinds of egg dishes (whatever you wish for) …

… with a good selection of different kinds of ingredients for your omelets.

But what is really outstanding is the selection of different kinds of Mexican dishes which are offered for breakfast “puntas de res”, “tamales”, “chilaquiles”, “frijoles” and many more. And all was absolutely tasty. Of course they also offer regular intercontinental breakfast elements like bacon, sausages or eggs.

A bit surprising was the fact that the Mexican breakfast elements changed from day to day. One day there was no buffet and you had to choose from the menu which was not bad after all but still quite surprising (and I had Punta de Res – Mexican beef with chipotle sauce, two fried eggs and refried beans; 250 MXN which were very tasty).

Every day a welcome drink was served – something spicy with chili (unfortunately, I do not remember what exactly was in the drink).

The service provided in the Restaurant Sea Breeze for breakfast is great – the waiters are very friendly and your juice is refilled on a very constant basis. If you have any special requests like puntas de res the day when it is not part of the buffet, it is not a problem – just ask one of the waiters, ideally Javier, and you will get it. But once in a while – when the place is busy – they are limitedly attentive but they always make up for it with their friendliness.

The view from the restaurant is great – you get to see – through the palm trees – right onto the ocean – a great view to start your day.

The interior of the Restaurant Sea Breeze is very nice, it is spacious, you have enough space between the tables so you have some privacy and the interior is very appealing.

If you are staying at the St. Regis Punta Mita, having breakfast at the Restaurant Sea Breeze is definitely a great idea – the food selection is good and includes Mexican dishes which is not so usual. The service is great, the view is amazing, the place is very nice and the price is absolutely acceptable
