30. August 2012: Restaurant Maneira Grill & Vino

| September 9, 2012 | 0 Comments

Starting with a Margharita into a blissful last evening in Mexico City was ideal …

… to deal with the pretty spicy dips which were served with absolutely delicious bread (I never thought I would actually ever say that about Mexican bread but the bread was truly outstanding).

As a main, I had “Bife de Lomo Especial Corazón de Filete 300grs” (220 MXN) which was in the best of taste, juciy, cooked just as I requested it to.

And the “Espinacas a la crema” (48 MXN) were definitely among the best side dishes I have had. The taste of original spinach with the absolute creaminess due to the crema – brilliant!

The dishes were great and the Maneira also has a nice wine selection. A bottle of the “El Supremo” accounts for 260 MXN, a glass for 60 MXN. The wine is astonishingly good and goes very well with the bife de lomo.

The waiters were friendly and helpful, evening organising more drinks after the official closing of the bar at 11pm. The place itself is nice and even has a little terrace on which you have a nice view onto the busy streets of Polanco. The prices are adequate for the food as well as for the drinks (mineral water, 26 MXN) but the cover charge (22 MXN) seems unnecessary.

In any case, the Restaurant Maneira Grill & Vino is a nice place which offers good food for reasonable prices and has nice and helpful waiters.
