I started the blog in October 2009, while living in Milan which I definitely consider to be one of the food capitals of the world. I was in touch with food since my early childhood (as my father is a former chef). Whenever I can, I travel the world to discover new places, to meet people but mostly to try local dishes and to find hidden gems! If you know a place worth going, please drop a line to: info@thediningexperience.org.
Currently, I am a member of the following food-related associations: Chevalier @Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Zurich-Ville; Membre Gourmet Dégustateur @Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs [OMGD]; Gesellschafter @Goldener Fisch and Member @Slowfood Convivium Zurich City.
A great concept, with poor execution: Restaurant Lokum | Turkish pop-up meze bar, catering in Zurich (29. May 2026)
Pop-ups are always fun, or, at least, mostly. The Lokum is the idea of a Turkish meze pop-up bar, which is definitely not something you find many of in Zurich, so, they are definitely addressing a niche. That being said, the booking was at 7pm, and we arrived on time. I started with a “Lido […]
A great re-discovered option for swift business lunches in a nice garden patio: Restaurant Weisses Rössli (29. May 2026)
I’ve been here only a few weeks back after not having visited the place for a while, but that visit persuaded me that I should return, and there was a little positive surprise to all of it, since they even have a little garden patio, which is in the back of the restaurant, nicely covered, […]
A new entry into the Guide Michelin in Munich – worth visiting: Restaurant Landersdorfer & Innerhofer (26. May 2026)
The Landersdorfer & Innerhofer has just shown up newly on the Guide Michelin app, so, I felt like this was a good moment to give it a try. Once you’re seated, you’re getting a selection of “bread”, which were both very enjoyable. There is only a “four-course meal” (EUR 128.00) and nothing else being served, […]
Amazing Georgian cuisine, but prepare yourself for a good rest with a full belly: Restaurant BaBo (24. May 2026)
The BaBo offers delicious Georgian cuisine and if you don’t mind being stuffed and almost unable to move, then you should order what we have ordered. We started with the “khachapuri megrelian” (EUR 12.50), which is something like a cheese pizza, but Georgian style, which is a bit different. But damn, it was tasty! The […]
Lovely, when you’re not in a rush – not so much if you are: Restaurant Colonel Brew Pub & Kitchen (24. May 2026)
When it’s sunny and you get to sit outside for breakfast, that’s close to perfect. I ordered something which is prepared swiftly, or so I thought. The “fitness breakfast” (EUR 12.90) is composed of cold chicken slices, egg, broccoli, avocado, and quinoa. Now, all of that is easily prepared (since the chicken is cold, it’s […]
Quite an exquisite last-minute find worth visiting: Restaurant 3 Pavāru “Tam labam būs augt” (23. May 2026)
Given the place we had originally booked didn’t have any of the items on the menu we were interested in, we decided to look for an alternative last minute, and ended up with the 3 Chefs and were lucky that – when we called – they still had a table for four available. Once you’re […]
Not sure the name is true, but a great spot for people watching: Zero Bullsh*t Wines Bar (23. May 2026)
Not sure the name is true, but the Zero Bullshit Wines Bar is definitely a high quality location. The price of the wines shows that. There area quite a few bottles with three figures as a price – which I found, given average monthly income in Latvia is about 1’300 – 1’400 EUR, quite surprising. […]
A wine shop, which offers a good opportunity to sit down and enjoy: Noble Wines Bar (23. May 2026)
The Noble Wines Bar is part of a wine shop and, hence, offers a small selection of dishes with the wine. The “food platter” was a nice offering, but frankly, it looked like much more than it actually was, i.e., after a few bites, all was gone. The inside is quite lovely in terms of […]
