I started the blog in October 2009, while living in Milan which I definitely consider to be one of the food capitals of the world. I was in touch with food since my early childhood (as my father is a former chef). Whenever I can, I travel the world to discover new places, to meet people but mostly to try local dishes and to find hidden gems! If you know a place worth going, please drop a line to: info@thediningexperience.org.
Currently, I am a member of the following food-related associations: Chevalier @Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Zurich-Ville; Membre Gourmet Dégustateur @Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs [OMGD]; Gesellschafter @Goldener Fisch and Member @Slowfood Convivium Zurich City.
A swift lunch is definitely an option @ W Lounge @ W Hotel London (22. October 2025)
Given I’ve had only a few minutes for lunch, I was lucky enough that the place wasn’t packed for lunch and that the staff were rather quick. I ordered the “chicken tenders (buttermilk dip)” (GBP 16.50), which were served within less than 10 minutes, which was great. That being said, I had a bit of […]
A nice à la carte breakfast worth enjoying if you have time: Breakfast @ W Lounge @ W Hotel London (22. October 2025)
If you’re staying at the W London and are looking for a nice breakfast, then the à la carte menu they have in the W Lounge is definitely recommended. I decided to go for the “avocado brioche bliss (crushed avocado, poached egg, chilli flakes on seeded brioche roll garnished with basil)” and the “smoked bacon”. […]
After a few challenges in the beginning, an all around great experience: Restaurant Ibai (21. October 2025)
The Ibai has apparently opened relatively recently, so, I was more than glad to give it a try. And it didn’t start entirely optimal, since it took the service staff quite a while until we were able to place our initial order. Once that was a success, the cadence picked up quite a bit and […]
A great find for a business lunch in central London: Restaurant Fallow (21. October 2025)
If you book short notice, you will only get a table at the bar, or, alternatively, on the terrace. At first, I was wondering a bit how the terrace would work since it has gotten quite cold already, but it turns out they have a heated terrace and, hence, it’s not too bad to sit […]
Driven by hundreds of times, and finally made it inside: Restaurant Sarajevska Ćevabdžinica (20. October 2025)
I have driven by that place so many times that I stopped counting – and every single time I was wondering if it would make sense to go in and try the place, which I finally did now. I went for the “bürek with cheese (sirnica)” (CHF 10.00) as a starter, which was already quite […]
Decent, but not sure how they got that good a rating: Restaurant Aki Tatsu Sushi & More (18. October 2025)
Since I wanted to enjoy something warm before heading to the market, I decided to go for a ramen place, which had a great rating on Google. And to be honest, I’m not entirely sure why that is. In any case, I decided to go for the “karaage (home-made, fried chicken Japanese style with miso […]
Dining at the No. 50 of The World’s 50 Best – with exquisite service: Restaurant JAN – Jan Hartwig (15. October 2025)
I had booked the JAN approximately three months earlier, which is how early you need to book this place if you want to score a table at the No. 50 of The World’s 50 Best. And I’d highly recommend you to do so. That being said, dining in a 3-Michelin Stars restaurant is always an […]
Still great for meat, but definitely on the expensive side of things for Munich: Restaurant Little London Bar & Grill (14. October 2025)
It’s a few years ago since I’ve last been in the Little London Bar & Grill and today, I felt like visiting it again. To get started, I went for the “Black Aberdeen beef filet tatar (shalot jam, jalapeño mayo, papadam chip)” (EUR 24.50), which was actually surprisingly tasty. The only thing, which I always […]
