Perfect spot to relax before visiting the Institut Lumière: Le Bistro Autrement (26. March 2017)
If you are into movies and film history, I can definitely recommend you to visit the ‘Institut Lumière’ but as we are still in France, the opening hours are more of a recommendation than actual opening hours, so I ended up looking for a café to wait until the place actually opens and found ‘Le Bistro Autrement’. Now, the place itself is nothing spectacular but the “Croissant” (EUR 1.20) is delicious and if the sun is shining, it is perfect to sit outside and enjoy the sun and the view onto the pizza in front of you.

The chairs are far from comfortable and the waiter is friendly but a bit overstrained as it takes a solid 7-8 minutes from taking up the order of ‘two more croissants and the bill’ until delivering the croissants (not even talking about the bill yet). And the place was not overly crowded in my impression. However, the place is good to enjoy the sun and the prices are fair (i.e. 0,33l Perrier, EUR 3.50; double espresso, EUR 3.10). So, before the Institut Lumière opens, the perfect spot to relax in the sun.
