31. March 2011: Restaurant Monti e Mare in the A-Rosa Grand Spa Resort

The starter was a soup which was okay – pretty much a regular soup without any surprises not rising any expectations for the upcoming courses. The soup was good though – it seemed to have been cooked for a long time so the taste was pretty intense.

The main course was a beef filet with some vegetables. The filet was absolutely tender – absolutely delicious, just like you’re having meat in heaven (I guess). You were able to cut the piece of meat in half by only pressing the knife slightly against the meat. It was really tender and rich in taste. Only its size was somewhat questionable and the vegetables were pretty regular too.

Finally, the desert was probably tasty but this kind of Austrian dumpling thing as a sweet doesn’t fit my personal taste really. Still, it can be said that overall the dishes were good. The meat was outstanding but the rest was just good and nothing more.

On the price I can’t judge as I don’t know what the dishes cost. The service on the other hand was pretty good. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and helpful and even when it got late they were always there to refill your glasses as requested. It was never missing anything on the tables.

The atmosphere in the golf club house Restaurant Monti e Mare in the A-Rosa Grand Spa Resort is really nice. The place has a little fireplace, the roof is made of wood and in general it provides you with a feeling of comfortableness like in a cottage somewhere up in the mountains. Definitely a great place to hang out. The only little downturn is the darkness – although it is supporting the comfortable atmosphere it somehow is also a bit too dark (for my personal gusto).

Still, overall, the Restaurant Monti e Mare in the A-Rosa Grand Spa Resort is definitely a place I can recommend. The dishes are good (the beef filet was extremly tasty), the atmosphere is great and the service is pretty good too.
