Good for a swift dinner the Italian way: Restaurant Mangia e Vai Machabäerstraße (24. October 2021)
If you’re looking for a simple dinner, then the Mangia e Vai is quite a decent choice. The place is nothing spectacular in terms of interior design but it offers a few seats which are comfortable to sit down. The service is friendly, i.e., you get what you ask within a few minutes although I had to wait quite a bit for some spread and freshly baked bread (and actually got it served only after the table next to me got it and he sat down later than I had).

I went for the “pumpkin cream soup with coconut milk, ginger and curry (spicy)” (EUR 7.50) which was absolutely fine in terms of taste as well as in terms of spiciness and portion size.

The “wild herbs salad with pink veal liver stripes, prepared with olive oil and balsamico cream” (EUR 15.50) didn’t look that appealing since there was somehow too much going on on the plate and there was definitely too much onion for my personal gusto, but besides that the dish was actually fine in terms of quality.

All in all, the Mangia e Vai is basically what the name in Italian promises – eat and go. It’s the perfect quick dinner stop. But nothing more than that.
