The perfect place to eat a hearty dish after hiking to the top: Berggasthaus Wildspitz (24. July 2022)
When you do a hike of 800m height difference, you’re definitely looking for a good and heavy kind of meal when you’ve reached the top. The Berggasthaus Wildspitz offers exactly that. The “roesti with bacon and egg sunny-side up” (CHF 19.00) does not look fancy, and it isn’t, but it’s a great bite. The roesti is delicious, and the generous adding of bacon (which makes everything better anyway) without adding a lot of fatty pieces, really makes it a great roesti. The fact that the egg yolk still runs down over the roesti when you pinch it, is another element adding to a great roesti.
The place is self-service, which doesn’t really matter though since they prepare the dishes freshly, and you get a buzzer when you pay, through which you’re informed that you can go pick up your meal. The view is quite breathtaking – so, it’s worth taking the struggle to climb up there and enjoy it. You deserve that roesti once you’ve made it!
