An amazing restaurant, considering the fact it’s located in a mall: Restaurant Aida Café (2. June 2024)

Since it was the last evening in Mexico, I decided to try another restaurant, but given I was located in Cuajimalpa, there weren’t too many places open at the evening of the election of the new president of Mexico. Luckily, the Aida Café, located in the Santa Fe Mall, was open, and wihle I’m always a bit skeptical of mall restaurants, this one actually turned out to be surprisingly nice. It started with a few “salsas and chips”, which were nice, but it was lacking a proper spicy salsa.

As a starter, I went for the “tacos de lechón (150gr) (en su jugo, con un toque de balsámico dulce)” (405 MXN), which were absolutely delicious. Sure, with 405 MXN, they are at the very expensive end of things for tacos, but they wer actually delicious. And with the salsa habanero, which I was offered, they turned out perfectly fine.

As a main, I went for the “cecina con dobladitas de mole (120gr) (clásica de Yecapixtla con dobladitas de mole rellenas de queso panela)” (315 MXN), where the mole was covering the flavour of the rest of the dish a bit too much for me, but I still somehow end up ordering dishes with mole over and over again. Personally, I liked the dish, though.

The place is overall quite nice, again, especially, since the place is located in a mall. The staff is on top of their game, superbly friendly, and very attentive.

So, if you have to eat in a mall, and especially in the mall in Santa Fe, then I would highly recommend you the Aida Café – for sure on the expensive side of things for Mexico, but still worth visiting.
