Lovely in summer to sit outside in the patio: Restaurant Café Europa (30. July 2024)

To me, the Café Europa is definitely a place I will frequent more in summer than in winter. Last time when I was here in February and sitting inside, it was way too noisy and loud, so, you basically had to yell to make sure you would hear each other. In summer, you get to sit outside in a little patio, which is warm, but a bit protected too, so it is actually quite nice.

What I absolutely love about the concept here is that you get to order your stuff on your mobile phone via a QR code, and you pay when you order, which is nice, since that allows you to get up and walk away, once you are done. So, that is really an ideal example of how things can be superbly efficient (instead of horribly slow).

The idea is to share a few dishes, which worked a charm, so we went for “carne crude”, “ravioli al brasato”, “toast with egg and truffles”, and “burrata with cherry tomatoes”. Since my friend didn’t eat meat that evening, I enjoyed the carne crude as a lovely portion of meat. The seasoning was perfect. The ravioli were delicious, and the pasta was nicely al dente. The burrata. The truffle toast was nice, but not what blew me away.

The “vegetable pinsa” was overall nice, but it was a bit too much dough for my personal gusto. Other than that, it was tasty.

To sum it up, the Café Europa is definitely a nice place and, personally, much better in summer than in winter. Make sure to book in advance, though, since it is rather packed.
