Loved the blue dumplings and was satisfied with the rest: Restaurant Thai House (7. August 2024)
My search for simple yet amazing restaurants continued this time and I ultimately decided to give the Thai House, which has a 4.5 rating on Google, a try. It is a bit hidden away in a back alley, but – especially considering the nice weather – surprisingly full. So, I would recommend you to book in advance. Once seated, I ordered the “‘Flowers of Siam’ (steamed dumplings stuffed with chicken, peanuts and radish)” (EUR 15.00), which did not only look very interesting, but were absolutely delicious and that was also true from a texture perspective since the peanuts added the necessary crunchiness.
As a main, I went for the “roasted duck breast with red curry and coconut milk” (EUR 28.00) and while the curry was tasty, the rice was a bit too dry and sticky for my personal gusto. The duck was great, but I realised that I prefer when the duck is roasted, and I enjoy it better when it’s not somehow “swimming” in a soup.
In any case, the Thai House has efficient, attentive, and friendly service and has a decent interior atmosphere. So, if you’re looking for some Thai food, then the Thai House isn’t the worst choice. It doesn’t taste as fresh and amazing like the Thai food I had a few months back, but it was definitely tasty!
