Always a good option for a meaty lunch, but with varying service quality: Restaurant Wine & Beef Fusterie (3. September 2024)

It’s more than two years ago since I’ve last eaten here, so, it was absolutely okay to try this place again. As they are basically famous for one dish, it was clear that we would go for the rib-eye steak lunch menu, which started with a “green salad”, which was actually great. I like the dressing quite a bit, making it a lovely bite.

The “rib-eye steak, Wine & Beef sauce, French fries and green beans (180gr)” (CHF 45.00) in two servings was great. The fries are nicely crunchy and not too stroppy, the meat is great, and cooked perfectly in terms of temperature – and the Wine & Beef sauce was lovely.

And the great thing is, you get a 2nd serving of the same, which really makes you have enough for lunch and you’re ending up not being hungry for a while.

The quality of the service staff highly varies – while one waitress was truly attentive and superbly friendly, the other one seemed to be on another planet as she poured the coke of my colleague kind of all over the place, and didn’t even clean it up after, which was a bit disturbing as part of the coke went over his phone. In any case, for a swift and tasty meat lunch, the Wine & Beef is a good choice.
