An amazing view onto the waters of Stockholm – but not much more: Restaurant Fotografiska Dine & Drink (15. June 2025)

I was quite curious how the brunch at the Fotografiska in Stockholm would be, and it turned out that it was somewhat beautiful (because of the view), but somewhat disappointing because of the actual brunch. The “brunch” (595 SEK) starts with “scones & sourdough cheese sandwich with clotted cream & marmalade”, which are absolutely fine, but I find the amount of spread and butter you’re getting way beyond what is necessary. Plus, the scones and the sourdough were both too dry for my personal gusto.

The brunch is composed of a set menu, so, there isn’t much you can pick from, and the next course was “gem salad with green goddess dressing and hemp seeds”, which was rather unexciting, and somehow not what I would put into a brunch.

I do admit that the “seaweed caviar, salt lemon & dill” and the “cream cheese & pickled chutney” balls were both rather nice, so, I was a bit more positive than after the first bites, but the “fried chicken with buttermilk, glaze & rapeseeds”,w hich was supposed to be my highlight was actually way too dry and there was too much fried batter and definitely not enough chicken, so, this was rather disappointing.

Luckily, at least the ‘main course’ was somewhat good. I liked the “potato & turnip mash, caramelised onion, egg and pickled turnip with a salsiccia by Fotografiska”. Sure, the pickled turnip noodles were a bit of something to get used to, but other than that, the dish itself was actually quite nice.

Last but not least, the “pavlova, rhubarb compote, cream and oat crumble” was the ending to the brunch. Like, you have eaten, you didn’t feel bad about it, but personally, I was also quite far from excited food-wise when I left. But the place is gorgeous and if you get a table by the windows, the view is exquisite!

The kitchen is open, and you get to watch the chefs prepare what you will eat, which is overall quite nice. After a bit of initial waiting time, the staff was friendly and helpful, but you have to generally be patient in this establishment.

All in all, I would come here again for the view and the exposition, but I would not come here again for the food.
