A great Michelin star experience with a great view onto Lake Zurich: Restaurant Wöschi (16. July 2025)

It’s more than a decade ago since I’ve last been to the Restaurant Wöschi, so, it was more than time to pay this place another visit – and I must admit that the “Tasting Menu” (CHF 155.00) started really well. The three “amuse bouches” were a good start into the dinner – while the cornetto was definitely the one, which was most surprising and exciting to eat.

Then it was time for “bread, butter, and spread” and similarly, the bread was of good quality and so was the butter. The spread wasa bit of something to get used to, however, it wasn’t too bad either.

What I truly enjoyed was the first official course of the menu – the “tomato with mozzarella ice cream” was definitely something different. The tomatoes were full of flavor and respectively amazing. The mozzarella ice cream was something, I think, I hadn’t tried before, so, I was more than positively surprised to try this. And I must admit, in combination with the tomatoes, this was actually a highly enjoyable dish.

Next in line was the “eggplant radiccio”, which was overall interesting, but to me it was lacking a little bit the extra in the dish.

Then it was time for the “pike perch”, which was enjoyable, but – again – unfortunately, nothing memorable.

The main course was really delicious, though, the meat was not only intense, but also delicious in the way it was prepared. So, this was definitely a great main course.

The sweets were equally nice – like, something you would truly enjoy, but nothing, which would blow your mind.

Last but not least, it was time for a few friandises, which were enjoyable and a great ending to an interesting evening.

The place is quite lovely, especially, when you’re goiong when it’s still bright and you get to see the lake – since the windows are incredibly tall and you get a good look onto Lake Zurich.

On top of that, the staff is superbly friendly and overall quite attentive, so, you get what you want within no time – and your glasses somehow never empty. So, if you’re looking for a nice atmosphere, good food, lovely service, and all of it for a fair price, then the Wöschi is definitely a place you should frequent. Booking in advance is highly recommended – since the place was completely booked out on a Wednesday evening.
