An absolutely outstanding chili crab in a hawker center: Seafood Alliance @ Newton Food Center (3. October 2025)
When I flew to Singapore, the purser on the flight, as a major foodie himself, was recommending me to have the “chili crab” (SGD 61.00) at the Seafood Alliance in the Newton Food Centre, and I must admit that I absolutely understand why. I mean, it’s a messy endeavor, and it’s definitely not something you eat every day, but it’s so worth it. The chili crab is what it promises to be – a crab prepared in a chili sauce. And there is plenty of that sauce – as well as plenty of crab. And it was so damn tasty. Luckily, in the blue little sachet, you can find gloves to eat that – because else it’s quite impossible.
The stall at which you get the chili crab is called “Alliance Seafood” and is located in the Newton Food Centre and probably not a place I would have visited without the recommendation.
If you’re looking for a great and tasty version of a chili crab, then the Seafood Alliance @ Newton Food Centre is absolutely the right place to go! Highly recommended!
