A once in a lifetime experience to fly First Class with Singapore Air: The Private Room (5. October 2025)
When you’re having the chance of flying First Class with Singapore Air, you should definitely do it since it’s a once in a lifetime experience. You’re brought to the specific First Class Terminal for Singapore Air where there is a whole check-in area, which is solely dedicated to first class passengers.

After being seated at your check-in and being processed for two to three minutes, you leave the check-in area …

… walk about 20 meters, and you’re at the entrance to the passport control for first class passengers, which takes another 30 seconds.

Then straight ahead, up the stairs, and you’re in the First Class Lounge …

… called “The Private Room”.

The Private Room is the calmest lounge I’ve ever been to, I think. Everything is calm, relaxed, and you just feel very comfortable. The staff is outstandingly friendly and attentive, and the à la carte selection is superb.

I started the journey with a “2007 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires” for breakfast …

… and had a “dim sum delights (charcoal BBQ pork bun | premium pork and prawn siew mai | pan-fried yam cake with XO sauce)” to get started. The taste was great and so was the variety, so, I was hyped to enjoy what else the menu had to offer and went …

… for the “Singapore laksa with lobster (rice vermicelli | coconut curry broth | lobster tail (shell-on) | hard-boiled egg | fish cakes | bean curd puffs | bean sprouts)”. Frankly, a perfect laksa with a nice curry coconut taste and a nice little lobster tail, which was superbly flavorful, so, frankly, all in all, a great bite.

Since I will probably only fly Singapore Air First Class one time in my life, I figured I’d have to do the full thing and went for a third breakfast dish in the form of the “truffle ee fu noodle (mixed mushrooms | vegetarian oyster sauce | truffle oil)”, which was overall okay, but wasn’t as good as the other two dishes since the truffle oil really isn’t cutting it (i.e., is not as good as fresh truffle).

So, frankly, The Private Room experience is absolutely outstanding. The only thing, which is a bit of a ‘disappointment’ is the lack of a ‘gate service’. With Lufthansa and Swiss, they are accompanying you to the aircraft, when you’re flying First Class, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Singapore Air, which led to me almost missing the boarding time. Well, in the end it worked all out, and I was ready to enjoy the actual flight.
