A touristic place with few authentic Croatian dishes but Ćevapčići: Restaurant Mama’s Pot (12. October 2025)
Sometimes these local places are rather nice, but the Mama’s Pot was somewhat a bit too touristic for my personal gusto. In any case, we ended up here and started with the “calamari with aioli” (EUR 18.00) to share and while the fries were actually quite nice, I found the calamari nothing special.

Given I tried to go for the most authentic dish, I chose the “Ćevapčići, made with 100% beef in flat bread” (EUR 23.00), which was actually fine. I mean, the meat isn’t really the most outstanding experience, but it was good, and it went well with the sauce and the onions, as well as the relatively greasy flatbread. So, not a bad choice, but also no culinary delight.

The place was simple, but nice and the staff was attentive, but lacked a bit in communication skills – meaning, their English wasn’t great, hence, there were quite a few misunderstandings when ordering. Some of us ordered a “Corona” and received a “Coke”; I ordered sparkling water and when she repeated the order, she mentioned still, which – luckily – I was able to correct.

So, yeah, all in all, Mama’s Pot is decent, but not a place I would return to.
