Superb service, friendly staff, tasty, but expensive: Restaurant SiLVA (24. October 2025)

| December 1, 2025 | 0 Comments

It wasn’t all too easy to find a place on a Friday evening, which has space and has a good rating. I found hte SiLVA and I must admit that the waitress taking care of me did an amazing job. She was jovial, friendly, and professional at the same time. Perfect service! I went for the “seabass crudo, jalapeño, yuzu and ginger dressing” (GBP 18.00) to get started, which was quite fine, but a bit small as a portion.

The “Cornish crab raviolo, langoustine sauce” (GBP 17.00) was lovely too, but I found the price for one raviolo, even if it was stuffed with crab and swimming in langoustine sauce, too high.

I then went for the “steak tartare, potato waffle, cured egg yolk” (GBP 19.00), which was lovely and had the perfect intensity. The “tenderstem broccoli” (GBP 8.00), which is usually my favorite vegetable, on the other hand, was somewhat disappointing.

Given, the dish was marketed as one of the absolute favorites of the restaurant, I decided to go for an extra dish in the form of the “crispy fried egg, girolles, Parmesan sauce” (GBP 14.00) and I must admit that it turned out to be superbly lovely. The fried egg was definitely something I hadn’t really tried like that before, and the creamy Parmesan sauce it was served in really added to the flavor experience.

So, all in all, the experience at the SiLVA was great. However, everything felt a bit too rushed as I was done in a good hour. Meaning, there was barely any pause between dishes. That being said, the staff was superbly friendly and kind, so, definitely a huge plus. Given the place isn’t massive, I would highly recommend you to book well in advance.
