A decent place, but not optimal for a business context: Restaurant Bi Béo (3. December 2025)

| January 8, 2026 | 0 Comments

The Bi Béo is quite a nice place, but has two major flaws – one being the fact that the whole thing is relatively crowded, i.e., the tables are close to each other, which increases the volume inside the small space quite massively. Secondly, the atmosphere is relatively dark, which makes it probably fine for a date, but much less so for a business dinner with colleagues.

In any case, they are friendly, but it takes a while until they notice you and bring you the menu – which is also true when you try to order the bill. It needed some waving and, ultimately, some ‘getting up’ to get the bill. That being said, I started with the “mango duck salad with coriander and onions” (EUR 13.90), which was quite nice, but also turned out to be quite a portion.

Secondly, I tried the “coconut soup with chicken, lemongrass, oyster mushrooms” (EUR 8.50), which was also rather nice, and not really that spicy, so, it went down well. The combination of flavors was a pleasant one, and even the meat quality was decent.

The “fried beef with market vegetables, lemongrass and chili” (EUR 19.90) was my choice for the main, and, frankly, the size of the dish was surprisingly small, considering that this was the main course. In any case, though, the dish itself was tasty and overall enjoyable.

So, to sum it up – decent dishes, fair prices, but too dark for a business context, and friendly service, but not really at the top of attention. Still, if you’re more than two people, I’d highly recommend you to book a table in advance.
