Hyped and absolutely disappointing: Restaurant To The Bone (7. December 2025)

Just a huge wow! And not a positive one! This place is so hyped and definitely doesn’t deliver! But let me start from the beginning. You’re seated swiftly and they take your jackets. So, all in all, the beginning was okay. That being said, I felt the atmosphere wasn’t too appealing, but maybe that was due to the table at the window. That aside, the evening started with an amuse bouche which was “bread with cabbage” on top. The bread felt stale, but I thought, well, maybe that’s part of a concept.

I went for the “veal bone marrow, pickles, cracker” (EUR 22.00), which was still rather okay. Sure, the pickles don’t really add to the dish, but other than that, the dish was actually. I mean, if you enjoy bone marrow, you can’t really go wrong with any type of bone marrow.

However, when it was time for the “entrecôte (250gr; 60 days aged), French fries” (EUR 49.00) things took a bit of a turn. Not only is the food displayed without much effort (i.e., they are not really trying to make it optically appealing), but the meat was superbly fatty. It might well be an entrecôte, but, frankly, it wasn’t great, and it was way too fatty for my personal gusto. Also, it was the thinnest entrecôte I’ve ever tried in my life. The fries were good, admittedly, but the meat was a disappointment. And given they only had this cut and a picanha on the menu, I was a bit taken aback. I mean, you’re a place, which serves meat. And you only have two cuts for regular guests who don’t want to enjoy 1000g plus meat cuts.

Although on the expensive side of things, the “sautéed black cabbage” (EUR 9.00) was good.

The place looked quite promising from the outside, but, frankly, was the pure opposite to the inside – what a pity.

Maybe if you get a large cut, it might turn out to be quite amazing – if you don’t, it won’t. So, all in all, I would highly recommend you to go somewhere else.
