Nice Middle Eastern flavors for decent prices (for Zurich): Restaurant NENI @ 25hours Hotel Langstrasse (11. December 2025)

Once you’re seated and have managed to get the attention of the waiter, you’re served some “labneh, olives, and bread” as a greeting from the kitchen – and I must admit, that it was surprisingly tasty.

We then went for the “Levantine beef tartare (challah bread, coriander, dill, sour cream, caper popcorn)” (CHF 19.00), which was lovely in terms of flavor, but frankly, the size of the thing was a bit small for the price. Still, other than that, it was quite enjoyable!

The “Neni’s hummus plate (classic hummus, pita bread)” (CHF 12.00) and the “grilled artichoke heart (labneh, caper dressing, toasted pine nuts)” (CHF 17.00) were actually both quite enjoyable. The hummus was a bit too dense in texture for me, but still enjoyable from a flavor perspective. The artichoke heart definitely belonged to the very enjoyable pieces that evening.

What I found a bit surprising is the “amount” of pita bread you’d get with the hummus. I mean, sure, it costs, but one pita bread for all that hummus seemed quite a bit off.

The “burnt pointed cabbage (amba beurre blanc, nut crumble, parsley pesto)” (CHF 16.00) wasn’t bad either, but frankly, to me, it didn’t do much in terms of flavor experience. Sure, it is somewhat lovely in terms of combination of textures and tastes, but overall, I wasn’t blown away.

Last but not least, the “flat iron steak” (CHF 42.00) definitely belonged to the most enjoyable things that evening. The meat was perfectly tender and had the perfect bite – and it was quite nice with the seasoning, so, definitely a course I would go for again.

The place is a bit dark, but it still creates a nice atmosphere, and the service is actually attentive, once, you have them realize you’re there initially. Given the place isn’t huge and located quite centrally, I would highly recommend you to book your table in advance.
