Equally great food, but somewhat not the same as the original: Restaurant Wen Cheng 3 (14. December 2025)
I’ve recently been to another joint of them, and I was quite positively surprised back then. So, my hopes were rather high. Frankly, this place looks prettier than the original in terms of interior design. But that was that. We were able to place our order relatively quickly, but you had to make it clear with hand signs, that you wanted to order, else you’d be passed by various times.
In any case, I went for the “Sichuan chicken bao (crispy fried Sichuan chicken bao, served with homemade Sichuan aioli, Asian pickle, cucumber pickle and coriander)” (EUR 6.90), which did not only look like a packed bite, but it was a packed bite. That being said, it was also an absolutely delicious bite! I mean, the crunch was perfect, the flavor profile was lovely, and you just felt like it was a excellent start to the dinner.

As a main, I went for the same again, the “Biang Biang Beef” (EUR 16.50), which was as good as last time. The beef was tender and would pull apart easily – the noodles were great, thick, and delicious!

So, frankly, from a food perspective, I absolutely enjoy the Wen Cheng, even though, I must admit, even the lowest spice level is already having an effect on the stomach. Other than that, the place has a story to tell (see picture), which I enjoyed quite a bit.

So, if you’re looking for tasty hand-pulled noodles, then the Wen Cheng – no matter which joint – is definitely a great place to get those noodles in!
