A calm and lovely place, but a bland pho noodle soup: Restaurant Miso Lab (22. December 2025)

To get started, we decided to have the “edamame” (EUR 5.50) and the “kimchi” (EUR 5.50). The edamame were fine, but somehow I had the impression that I’ve had better before. The kimchi on the other hand was actually extraordinarily tasty. The perfect balance of kimchi, carrots, and that little spice, which improves everything.

As a second starter, I went for the “chicken salad with sesame dressing (a light salad with tender chicken breast, cucumber, and shiso, served with sesame dressing)” (EUR 7.50), which was a very generous portion, and superbly tasty. I loved the chicken, and it went superbly well with the sesame dressing and the cucumbers.

As a main, I went for the “pho chicken broth with beef (classic rice noodle soup with onions, bean sprouts, and assor)” (EUR 12.50), and well, that wasn’t really that mind-blowing. After the chicken salad, my hopes were high, but they got definitely disappointed since the broth was just somewhat bland. I mean, I added quite a bit of spice, which gave it a little kick, but frankly, the broth was just somewhat boring. The beef slices, on the other hand, were perfect, as they were cut so thinly, that it was just optimal to eat – flavorful, and nice.

All in all, I enjoyed the Miso Lab as the atmosphere is nice and you get to watch the chefs if you’re seated in the back (which we decided to do), the food is overall good, although I found the broth boring, and the staff is friendly and attentive. So, if you are looking for some good Vietnamese food, then this is the place.
