Surprisingly nice vegan ramen where I hadn’t expected it: Restaurant Iimori Ramen (27. December 2025)
The Iimori Ramen didn’t give away that it was a vegetarian/vegan place when I checked it out online, so, I was a bit surprised to end up in a joint, which didn’t serve meat, but I had to make the best out of it. To get started, it was time for “edamame” (EUR 4.00), “Yodaredori (roasted vegan duck breast with spicy sauce)” (EUR 5.00) and “wonton dumplings” (EUR 5.00). The edamame was, as always, nice, and the wonton dumplings were overall quite fine too. What really surprised me positively was the yodaredori since it really had that taste of duck, which was actually much tastier than expected.

I had my challenge picking a main, since I was really looking forward to a nice soup with beef, but given that was not possible, I went for the next best thing, which was the “vegan tonkotsu ramen (vegan beef noodle soup, garlic oil, baby corn, pack choi, leek)” (EUR 14.50). Frankly, the “beef” was not bad, but far from enjoyable compared to actual beef. Secondly, the broth was a little bland, but other than that – overall – the ramen was quite fine.

The place itself is tiny, so, it’s really not easy to score a spot, but if you’re lucky enough to do so, then you get to experience friendly staff, which will make sure you’ll have the best (vegan) experience possible.
