The perfect pasta dish to start your Rome vacation: Restaurant La Piccola Cuccagna (29. December 2025)

| January 30, 2026 | 0 Comments

The first day in Rome just called for a nice place of pasta, but given my flight had been delayed and, hence, it wasn’t really the optimal time to eat something (around 4pm), even for Italy, I ended up searching quite a while for a restaurant which would actually serve food. And finally, I found the La Piccola Cuccagna, which was lovely and had a good rating of 4.6 on Google. I only wanted a small bite, so, I ordered the “Tonnarello Cacio E Pepe (tonnarello with pecorino cheese DOP and black pepper)” (EUR 15.00), which was – honestly – quite awesome. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the cacio e pepe sauce was equally lovely, making it a nice pasta dish to get started in Rome.

The place is relatively small, but overall quite lovely and it allows you to sit down, enjoy your meal, and enjoy the good service of the staff here. So, all in all, the La Piccola Cuccagna is probably not a place I would have walked in if it wasn’t for the necessity to find something, which is still open at that time, but it is definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for something tasty and quick.
