A place, which turned out to be much better than I had expected: Restaurant VIB (30. December 2025)
It really wasn’t easy to find decent restaurants, which would still have space, on a short notice, but luckily I somehow managed (after spending enough time doing research). The VIB belongs to those with research – I would never have walked into it by walking by, but given it was recommended by the hotel and since the place had a rating of 4.8, I figured, it might be worth giving it a try. The amuse bouche is served as a “cacio e pepe bite”, which was quite lovely.

I then went for the “octopus carpaccio marinated with gin, juniper powder, and mint/parsley ice cream” (EUR 22.00), which was interesting. I mean, the mint/parsley ice cream was actually exquisite, however, the octopus carpaccio was somehow disappointing. I don’t know what I had expected, but it felt like the octopus carpaccio wasn’t really what I was looking for.

The “eggplant parmigiana” (EUR 16.00) turned out to be quite tasty, so, definitely a dish you can enjoy while eating at VIB.

Finally, I decided to get the “tonnarelli alla Amatriciana” (EUR 16.00) as a primo piatto and I quite enjoyed it. Sure, there was a lot of sauce, which is something you need to like, but other than that, it was very very good.

Finally, the description of the dish felt more like it was going to be a tagliata, but it turned out to be more something like “pulled beef strips (beef, rocket salad, Parmesan cheese, balsamic vinegar of Modena)” (EUR 24.00), which was a little weird in terms of how it was served, but it actually turned out to be tasty. So, despite the ‘disappointment’ that it was not what I had expected, I was still able to enjoy it a lot.

Finally, it was time for some chocolates, which were all quite nice as a ending to the dinner.

The staff is quite attentive and friendly, but it does feel like in an old Italian restaurant where everything has to follow rules. In any case, the VIB is definitely a place you an try if you’re looking for something in the evening. Booking highly recommended.
