The “all you can eat shrimp Monday” you have to try: Restaurant Jacob (19. January 2026)

| March 3, 2026 | 0 Comments

I had booked the Jacob just like that to have an option for dinner without any real research – mainly focusing on a place, which had a decent rating on Google. Once you arrive, you can see that the place exists for a while as it has a lot of people who definitely are from (around) Munich. I checked the menu and figured it would be a good thing to start with “canned sardines, crispy focaccia, pickled onions” (EUR 13.50) and I must say, it was. The sardine was very enjoyable.

Then I discoverd something on the menu, which is only offered on Mondays – “all you can eat shrimp incl. crispy focaccia” (EUR 39.00) and I ordered an additional “lemon mayo” (EUR 3.50). For some reason, we also got a “pasta arrabbiata” (which I believe was somehow a wrong order, and they just served it to us). That being said, the shrimp were actually quite lovely, and you could really order as many as you wanted, which I considered quite a lovely option. They also have the higher quality scampi (costing EUR 30.00 more), which is definitely a lovely option. The lemon mayo worked great with the shrimp. However, the (not ordered) pasta was somewhat disappointing. It wasn’t al dente at all (but rather overcooked) and it wasn’t arrabbiata either, but rather bland. So, don’t go for pasta at the Jacob.

The staff is friendly, but somehow they don’t have enough waiters for the number of tables. For every single thing we wanted to order, we had to wave at the waiter various times until he finally noticed us. So, as friendly as they are, as non-attentive they are. In any case, though, make sure to book your table in advance!
