Getting your cheese like on a sushi conveyor belt: Restaurant Pick & Cheese @ KERB Food Hall (14. February 2026)

The Pick & Cheese had been recommended more than once already, so, I figured that I should give it a try. That being said, I got an email from the place that they are struggling and only have a limited selection of cheeses, which was, of course, a little disappointing, but I still wanted to give it a try (while it still exists). Once you’re seated at the sushi conveyor belt thingy for cheese, you are getting a nice little plate with a “dog in a cheese” drawing.

Then, you’re to select the little plates from the conveyor belt – and I went with “Das Schaf (Arnold & Annet de Vries, Lindau) served with poached pear” (EUR 5.95) to get started, which was a good start, since it was easy to enjoy due to its light taste, and the poached pear went well with it.

Next in line, I went with the “Berliner Blau (Urstrom cheese, Brandenburg); served with chocolate brownie” (EUR 5.45), which was definitely an increase in intensity, but it actually was rather enjoyable too.

Especially, since I got some complimentary “bread & butter”, which would make it a good combination with the cheese slices.

Then, I had the “Heggelbach x Alte Milch (Heggelbach, Baden-Württemberg) served with fudge and salted pretzel” (EUR 5.45), which definitely had a nice intensity for a hard cheese. The fudge with salt was lovely, but I saved it for the very end since it was a nice dessert type kind of bite.

The “Mulberryy (Urstrom cheese, Brandenburg) served with lemon cream” (EUR 3.95) was another interesting bite. The lemon cream was definitely something I had not expected, but it went superbly well with the cheese.

The “Erdhof Weiss (Erdhof Farm, Seewalde) served with roasted beet root and thyme” (EUR 5.45) was somehow a bit dull in terms of flavor, and the combination wasn’t entirely mine. I mean, sure, the idea is interesting, but personally, I found the beetroot too sour.

The “1862 Meisterstück (Baldauf, Allgäu) served with sugar carrot syrup” (EUR 3.95) was yet another good hard cheese. Sure, nothing extraordinary or exciting, but a good bite of cheese with an interesting combination. I don’t think I’ve ever had sugar carrot syrup.

The “Limburger (Anton Holzinger, Allgäu) served with bacon jam” (EUR 3.95) was my last choice, and while the cheese itself was rather average, I absolutely loved the ‘bacon jam’. The jam like texture with the intensity of actual bacon and actual bacon cubes was just absolutely delicious, and went well with the rather dull Limburger.

The place is quite nice and interesting to sit down – it’s really like on of these sushi places where the sushi goes in circles. The guy who runs the place was superbly friendly and attentive (given I was the only customer at this point, no surprise), so, definitely a place I would return to.

All in all, the Pick & Cheese is an interesting concept – especially if you’re into cheese. The selection is – indeed – limited, but it’s still enjoyable, so, good to try.
