A place, which opened just three weeks ago – and is worth visiting: Restaurant Casele (18. February 2026)

Admittedly, it always helps if you know the owner of the restaurant and since my friends know the owner, we were almost certain going to have a nice evening. The Casele opened approximately three weeks ago, but you cannot see that things are ‘new’ because the service works flawlessly, people are incredibly friendly, and the food is great.

I started with a “Moscow Mule (vodka, lime, Thomas Henry Spicy Ginger)” (EUR 13.00), which was not only good, but also served rather swiftly.

As a starter, I went for the “Polpo fritto (octopus with a potato ginger purée and octopus mayonnaise)” (EUR 21.00), which was quite delicious despite the fact that I’m not the biggest fan of mashed potatoes. The only thing I would have wished for was a bit more pulpo in the dish. Other than that, it was an absolutely great and delicious bite.

As a main, I decided to go for the “cavatelli al pomodoro giallo (cavatelli with yellow cherry tomatoes sugo, lemon cest, burrata mouse and basil pesto)” (EUR 22.00), which were great. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sugo, which it came in was delicious. Frankly, I wanted to lick the plate. On top of that, the plate has a fascinating design since the plate is almost “bumpy” inside – which makes it look great, but isn’t very practical if you’re trying to scoop up the sugo.

On your way to wash your hands, you’re also passing the kitchen and I like that it’s spacious, and you can see how concentrated everyone is. Frankly, it’s a lovely environment. We were also lucky to get a ‘private tour’ of the remaining rooms (separées) and I must say, they are quite lovely.

So, if you’re in Munich, and you’re looking for the perfect combination between an authentic, but at the same “fancy” Italian, then the Casele is definitely a place you should consider!
