Always a safe bet for proper Swiss food – and a place to play cards: Restaurant Werdguet (19. February 2026)

| April 10, 2026 | 0 Comments

As I meet with my friends from the army on a regular basis to play cards, I end up here also on a regular basis. I started with a “caesar salad (iceberg salad, shaved cheese, bacon cubes)” (CHF 11.00), which was actually quite tasty. Sure, the intensity of the bacon definitely adds to the experience of this dish, but, it adds so pleasantly.

As a main, I went for the “veal cordon bleu with dried ham from the Grisons, Gorgonzola, and French Fries” (CHF 46.00) and I must say, it’s not the same every time, but this day, it was actually great. There was enough meat, plenty of cheese, and it was a great flavor combination. And the fries were good and crisp, not stroppy at all. So, a good and sound dish.

The place is traditional and appealing – and the staff is friendly and attentive. Amalia, who runs the place, is charming and makes sure you’re attended at all times. So, all in all, the Werdguet remains a safe bet for good Swiss food.
