Quite decent tacos, but what is it with the pineapple? Restaurant Xolo @ The Playce (18. April 2026)
It was rather late (around 2pm) for a regular lunch, so, it was good to get into a food hall to grab something there. I was personally surprised how full the place still was given the time. That being said, I ordered some “tacos al pastor (grilled pork marinated in orange juice, achiote, guajillo chilli topped with pineapple, onion and cilantro)” (EUR 15.50), which were all in all quite decent. Sure, EUR 3.875 per taco is definitely on the expensive side of things compared to what tacos would usually cost, but they were good. The only thing I didn’t quite understand was the pineapple. Why would you add pineapple to it? It really doesn’t add any benefit …

What I celebrated a little was definitely the menu – I found the graphic illustration of what meat you get in the tacos quite entertaining!

While the staff was super friendly when taking up the order, it took them a good 10 minutes to prepare the tacos. One can say “they prepared them freshly” (which is probably true), but one could also say that they are slow to prepare tacos. All in all, the taco experience was a decent one.
