When you visit a restaurant a decade later again: Restaurant Kimchi Princess (19. April 2026)
When I did my regular check-in I always do at restaurants, I was ‘shown’ that I had been here back in May 2016, which was quite a surprise since I really couldn’t remember that. Once I checked it (see here), I remembered that I had been to this place and with whom. Funny enough, the guy texted me just the day before!
The place was – luckily, and probably due to bad weather – not too crowded, which made it not too loud and which made it overall comfortable to sit there. I can imagine that it gets quite loud when it’s full. The staff is superbly friendly and attentive making sure you have everything you need. I went for the “yangnyeom chicken (crispy fried boneless chicken thigh with a spicy and sweet sauce with a fine touch of cinnamon on a bed of fine cut lettuce)” (EUR 15.00) as a starter and let me tell you, this was quite a portion. I was almost full after this, so, I think they should advertise it as starters “good for two”! So, after a luscious diving into chicken episode, it was almost time for the main.

The “kimchi” (EUR 3.50), which I had to order given the place is called Kimchi Princess, was actually quite good. Aromatic, not too intense, quite enjoyed it.

As a main, I had decided to go for the “Kimchi Jjigae (spicy stew with kimchi, pork belly, and tofu)” (EUR 16.90), which was a lot! I mean, you had a bunch of different small sides including a bowl of rice, so, definitely enough for one person. That being said, the stew was a bit too liquid for me, but other than that, enjoyable.

All in all, my return to the Kimchi Princess was a pleasant one. Not entirely what I had expected, but tasty food, fair prices, and superbly friendly service. Booking in advance doesn’t seem to be a must, but is advised.
