When you’re actively asked to leave the restaurant (due to their afternoon break): Restaurant The Old Inn (21. April 2026)
I have been to The Old Inn quite a few time and frankly, I always kind of liked the place. However, in all honesty, I was not enitrely happy this time. Admittedly, we had booked a table for a relatively late lunch (i.e., 1pm CET), but we weren’t given any warning upfront that the restaurant would close at 2pm and that they would actively ask us to leave at 2pm sharp.
But let’s start with the food – I went for the “dry-aged wagyu burger (cheddar, onion jam, secret sauce, fries)” (CHF 33.00), which was – all in all – decent, but, in my opinion, this is not their best dish.

The service was swift and generally friendly. What was a bit surprising, since we only had just finished our plates, was the fact that at around 1:55pm CET they brought the bill, actively. Sure, that’s fine, and you want to close, so, I also get that. That being said, we were just about to wrap up and empty our drinks around 2pm, when we were – quite directly and frankly a little rude – asked to leave. I still like The Old Inn, but I found the behaviour of the waitress a little inappropriate.
