An excellent breakfast menu with a lot of variety: Restaurant Pergola @ Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort (14. – 18. May 2026)

The breakfast restaurant at the Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort is quite lovely. It’s located right by the pool and the staff is outstandingly friendly and – largely – competent. I basically went through the whole à la carte breakfast menu over these few days starting with the “bread basket (plain croissants, chocolate croissants, butter, honey, jam)”, which was quite fine. Only the ‘choco croissants’ were a bit too dry for my personal gusto.

The “seasonal fruits” platter was stable and had little variety over the days, but all in all, it was always good.

The same was true for the “seasonal vegetable crudités”, which were also nice to get your day started.

I went for the “Greek cheeses and cold cuts (smoked turkey, boiled ham, Syros salami, Mykonos Louza, Naxos Graviera, Kaseri, Manouri)”, which sounded promising with a few different things, but it felt a bit underwhelming when I received it with two types of cheese and salami only.

The “Greek morning croque (Cretan Apaki, Gaviera béchamel, fried egg, fresh Greek herbs)” was like a croque monsieur, but Greek style, and I must say, I prefer this one. It’s – for sure – a super heavy breakfast dish, but it was tasty and enjoyable, so, a good choice if you’re looking for something heavy to get started.

The “feta cheese pie” wasn’t bad either, but a little too dry for my personal gusto. With a beverage on the side, it was good, though.

The “Greek yogurt” with some honey (I had added) was a super solid starter for breakfast – liked it a lot.

The “smoked fish & pickles” on the other hand were rather disappointing again. If I read ‘smoked fish’, then ‘smoked salmon’ is technically not wrong, but it felt a bit like there should have been more to the dish.

The “Kayianas (sourdough bread, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, feta, olives)” were my favorite morning egg dish. Definitely also something, which fills your stomach, and something, which is rather delicious, so, I can highly recommend you to try the Kayianas if you have the chance.

The “bacon” was quite good too, not too fatty, not too dry – so, also a safe bet.

The “eggy bread (cherry tomatoes, Anthotyro cheese, soft-boiled eggs, chili oil, Greek oregano)” on the other hand was a little overwhelming. A few slices of bread with a bit of cherry tomato and feta, and egg halves on the side. It definitely didn’t fulfil my wishes for a breakfast.

Then, the “oven-baked eggs (spinach, fresh herbs, feta, potato, olive oil)” was definitely too much – well-hidden under the decoration salad, I must say, it was a rather heavy bite and definitely not something if you want to enjoy a light breakfast.

The “avocado royale (sourdough bread, poached eggs, avocado, smoked salmon, Hollandaise sauce)” on the other hand was fine, small, and not filling up your stomach too much.

The place is simple, functional, but still somewhat appealing, and with the view onto the water (pool), it was rather nice to get your day started like that.

All in all, the Pergola is a good choice if you’re staying at the Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort – it offers you everything you need, in a decent atmosphere, and with generally friendly and professional staff.
