Not sure the name is true, but a great spot for people watching: Zero Bullsh*t Wines Bar (23. May 2026)
Not sure the name is true, but the Zero Bullshit Wines Bar is definitely a high quality location. The price of the wines shows that. There area quite a few bottles with three figures as a price – which I found, given average monthly income in Latvia is about 1’300 – 1’400 EUR, quite surprising. However, they also offer a few small bites, which we decided to take besides the wine in the form of the “sando tartar (wagyu bavette, egg yolk, truffle paste, caramelized onions)” (EUR 15.00) or the “beef carpaccio (shimeji, egg yolk, miso mayo)” (EUR 13.00). Both dishes were absolutely delicious. So, even if the wines are not necessarily on the cheap side, the food selection is definitely a great one.
The sommelier (or the head waiter) is passionate about wines, no question. However, the “zero bullshit” is only partially true as there is a ton of explanation one hasn’t asked for around personal backstory and the like. Sure, that can be lovely, but it doesn’t have to. So, all in all, good wines, tasty dishes, but both definitely on the pricier side of things – especially for a low-income country like Latvia.
