Quite an exquisite last-minute find worth visiting: Restaurant 3 Pavāru “Tam labam būs augt” (23. May 2026)

| July 24, 2026 | 0 Comments

Given the place we had originally booked didn’t have any of the items on the menu we were interested in, we decided to look for an alternative last minute, and ended up with the 3 Chefs and were lucky that – when we called – they still had a table for four available. Once you’re seated and have placed your order, you’re getting a sheet of baking paper in front of you and then one of the chefs puts some different sauces on your baking sheet …

… which you’re then supposed to eat up with the bread, which is served. Not an absolute first for me, but it was fun to see and to try the different sauces.

As a starter, I went for the “venison tartare (spruce needle mayo, beer-pickled onions, pickled blackcurrant, potato chips)” (EUR 18.00), which was absolutely mouth-watering, so, definitely a great dish to get started. I’ve tried venison tartare before, but not too often, and I must say that it was more than great.

Lamb is always a wild card as sometimes it is really tasty, and sometimes it isn’t. Luckily, it was really tasty! The “slow cooked lamb (green peas, fermented rhubarb, chokeberry sauce)” (EUR 29.00) was absolutely tender, didn’t taste like lamb, and was served in a nice sauce. The “baked asparagus” (EUR 9.00) on the side was the perfect complementary dish.

Lat but not least, the “honey cake (whipped sour cream, beeswax ice cream, pollen sauce)” (EUR 14.00) was definitely something truly enjoyable. The perfect balance between sweet and not so sweet – so, definitely a good choice for dessert.

All in all, the food, the prices, the staff, and the location are all great at the 3 Chefs, so, definitely a place I can recommend you to visit. Just make sure to book your table well in advance (or bet on being really lucky) to get a table.
