An outstanding gem I randomly encountered: Restaurant Recoveco (1. January 2020)
Sometimes, you randomly find a little gem and the Recoveco was exactly that! While actually being on the way to the hotel, I passed the Recoveco which looked super appealing, so I decided to have a late lunch here instead. As an amuse bouche, “blue potato and pork belly” was served. The pork belly wasn’t as crispy as it should have been in my personal opinion but the blue potato mash was absolutely smooth and delicious (probably a lot of butter used but so enjoyable!).
The “ensaladilla de gambón, patata confitada, huevas de mújol rojo, con salsa de mahonesa casera aromatizada con trufa” (EUR 9.50 instead of EUR 12.00 which it said on the menu) didn’t look that great but it actually was great! Smooth, rich, full of flavor!
The place is absolutely lovely in terms of interior decoration and professionalism! Everything seems to work perfectly. Only in the very beginning it took them a bit to bring the menu and take up the order. After that they were alert, friendly, and swift, just how it should be.
For a surprise lunch, there seems to be space for a spontaneous visit, however, if you are going here for dinner or if you show up a bit earlier, I suppose the place is often booked out, and would, therefore, recommend you to make a reservation in advance.
