14. March 2013: Restaurant Altes Land @Hotel Grand Elysée
I have experienced quite a few hotel buffets but this is definitely one of the better ones I have tried so far. There was a nice selection of different salads, …
… two kinds of salmon, roastbeef with freshly grinded horseradish, …
… king prawns …
… salmon with rice …
… duck and potatoes …
… a selection of fruit, white and brown mousse au chocolate …
… and crepes with sauces.
The place itself was definitely not that outstanding. I mean, it was okay but the “Library” room which they had, definitely looked way nicer than where we have been put!
The service was extraordinarily friendly, flexible and supportive! I must admit, that for buffet service it was definitely among the better ones I have seen so far! The price is pretty okay too with EUR 40.00 per person. Overall, the food at the Restaurant in the Hotel Grand Elysée in Hamburg is pretty decent (especially for a buffet) and the price is fair, the service is friendly – only the room we were put into could have been better.
