6. May 2013: Jules Verne – Panorama Bar
The “Antipasti platter” (CHF 21.50) is fine – parmesan cheese, olives, dates wrapped in bacon and last but not least vegetables alla grigliata. It fits especially well with a glass of wine (1 DL Primitivo, CHF 9.50) and some water (CHF 7.00 for 3,3dl).
What is truly amazing though is the view you have from there as you are at the top level of the building and basically you get a 360° view (if you walk around) of the city of Zurich. While the weather that night was not so good, I imagine it is truly beautiful when the weather is good.
The service is friendly and attentive but leaves a hectic impression somehow – and you have to be aware that you have to pay immediately when you get your stuff. But at least you can pay by credit card (although they do not accept Diners Club). The atmosphere is also quite nice – the place is quite small and the design is held in rather dark wood and leather but it perfectly supports the feeling that you are located in an old kind of tower. Absolutely lovely place and I have definitely not been here the last time.
