9. May 2013: La Parrilla Argentina
After a hard party night, a breakfast at La Parrilla Argentina is just the right thing. You get heavy stuffed bread (pintxos) and the famous “tortilla” with cheese and ham. Truly delicious – for only EUR 19.50 you get 2 beers, 4 coca colas and 4 pintxos.
The place is – I guess – pretty typical for Bilbao. A quite old bar which offers pretty much everything you need – but you can easily see that it is already pretty old.
But exactly this is what makes it so damn charming – I mean, we are all used to these modern, clean, even sterile bars (I admit though, I like them as much) and we are not so much used to this kind of bars – but they are just great.
Even when you look at it from the outside, you can see how nice and old-ish the place is. Definitely what you want it to be like for going for a pretty typical Spanish breakfast.
The service is – well – efficient. Friendliness is not their strongest point but then again it seems like they are not used to tourists really. In any case, nice place to cure from a hangover.
