31. May 2013: Gelateria Amorino Mayor Madrid
Once more I had to visit the Amorino Gelateria – this time in the Calle Mayor of Madrid. I went for a “Coppa Grande” (EUR 5.50) with three flavours (lemon, vanilla and white chocolate). The ice cream was good – no question but I guess one should not try the regular flavours when there. I mean, they are good, no question, but somehow they lack creativity. Unfortunately, I was not able to spot “the flavour of the month”.
As usually, the selection of about 24 different flavours is quite nice …
… and so is the interior of the Gelateria Amorino. What I must say, what I’m impressed about is the fact that they really manage to keep the same store layout across countries. Lovely as usual!
Besides that, the lady at the counter was friendly and helpful and we got our icecream within minutes. If you like good icecream, the Gelateria Amorino is always a good choice but I guess it looses its “being special” when you have been to some of these icecream parlours. Still, the Amorino Madrid is located right next to the Mercado de San Miguel (a large food market – read more about it soon) and the perfect “round-up” after enjoying lunch.
