31. May 2013 – 2. June 2013: Sheraton Club Lounge @Sheraton Madrid Mirasierra Hotel & Spa
It is quite some time ago that I have been to a good lounge of a Starwood hotel – often there is non available or then the offer they have is rather limited. And I must say that the Sheraton Club Lounge in the Sheraton Madrid Mirasierra Hotel & Spa is definitely worth a visit. You can have breakfast there which is of course not as complete as in the Restaurant Verdíl downstairs.
But also in the afternoon the selection of dishes is pretty nice ranging from cold cuts (jamon iberico, salami, chorizo – which are absolutely tasty) over cheese (manchego and others) to bread, chips and nuts ….
… as well as a selection of fresh fruit, tea, and coffe …
… not to forget beverages including red wine, white wine and cava (available the whole day).
Some things remain there throughout the day like the cheese and the cold cuts but in the evening the offer is extended …
… tomato mozzarrella sticks, salmon, fried shrimp with sweet and sour sauce …
… pork sticks and even small hamburgers which are both quite tasty! The place is not only providing you with all you need for a small breakfast, lunch, in-between-snack or dinner but is also quite comfortable and you have a great view. The service – or rather the guest relations lady who sits there the whole day – is friendly but apparently does not see it as her job to check from time to time if there is still food. This is occassionally done by some waiter – but he only shows up like every 1,5 hours so it can easily happen that you find a half empty buffet.
As all of this is included in the Club Level Suites or if you are an SPG Platinum member, the price performance ratio is obviously rather good and will therefore not be assessed. Overall though, I must say that the Sheraton Club Lounge @Sheraton Madrid Mirasierra Hotel & Spa offers a good and very tasty selection of dishes throughout the entire day!
