6. June 2013: Restaurant Liu’s Wok
A typical Thai soup, the “Tom Kah Gai” (coconut soup with chicken filet, EUR 2.20 – substitute for the menu soup) was tasty and spicy. The chicken was quite heavily cooked though and therefore rather chewy.
The “Liu’s Sushi Traum” (EUR 14.90 per person; at least 2 people; 6 vegetable maki, 6 california maki, 6 salmon maki, 4 salmon suhi, 2 tuna sushi, 2 gunnel sushi, 2 prawn sushi, 6 salmon sashimi, 2 tuna sashimi and 2 gunnel sashimi) really is a dream. The sushi is fresh, rich in taste and big enough so you will be satisified and full after eating it. Even the gunnel which is often not so tasty was smooth and rich.
The “Melone Basil Lime” (EUR 3.50) drink with pieces of water melon, fresh basil leaves and limes is quite refreshing but it is a bit annoying that the water melon stones are not filtered out.
The place itself is rather simple but nice for sure – the little backyard garden is cozy and the service is very friendly, entertaining, funny and actually quite competent. Even the prices are fair – for the food as well as for the beverages (e.g. 0,75L Chardonnay, EUR 19.00).
Overall, I can recommend the Restaurant Liu’s Wok – the food is tasty and rich, the prices are very fair, the place is nice but simple and the service is besides “competent” also quite entertaining.
