27. March 2010: Restaurant Fuxägufer

| March 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

The restaurant Fuxägufer is located on the slopes of Davos on the level of the middle station and is easily reachable with the chair lift from Davos. The restaurant itself is beautifully situated in the middle of the mountains and you have a beautiful view over Davos with the mountains in the background. From the outside, it looks really comfortable as the tables and benches are located right in the sun.

From the inside, the restaurant looks very nice as well and is probably quite cozy when it’s not such good weather outside.

The service is quite good there. Sometimes you have to wait a bit until you’re actually served but taking into account the amount of people being there all day long, it’s totally acceptable with regards to the waiting time. Furthermore, the waiters are very friendly and helpful and offer you once in a while a bottle of wine or a drink (and actually drink with you too).

If you want to enjoy something to eat outside, it’s recommendable to reserve a table when the weather is expected to be nice – otherwise it’ll be tricky to find a place to sit. The fondue is quite good as the cheese mix is tasty and the garlic provided in it is good too (and enough). The only thing which was missing in the beginning was the “Kirsch” which finalized the taste of the fondue in the end.

All in all, the Fuxägufer is a great place to hang out in the sun and to enjoy a Fondue as the food is good, the service is very friendly and helpful and the location is just amazing to lay in the sun and enjoy the weather. The only little shortcomming are the prices – very much like a typical Swiss price in a ski resort.
