28. June 2013: Restaurant Schützengasse
“Bruschette with mushrooms” is the first course of the lunch menu (CHF 24.50) and was actually quite tasty. The layer of mushrooms is thick and the crunchy bread provides the perfect basis to make it a real tasty bruschetta.
The “meat loaf with mashed potatoes, gravy and fried egg” was recommended by the waiter and our neighbour table, and it was definitely great. Although usually very simple, the meat loaf was still juicy, very taste-intense and just great. Seldomly ever had such a great tasting meat loaf!
The place does not only have fair prices for the dishes but also for the beverages (double espresso, CHF 6.50; 0,5L San Pellegrino, CHF 6.50). Besides that the waiters are friendly, passionate and quick and last but not least, the place is very nice – simply furnished but neatly organized and just makes you perfectly feel welcome. For lunch, definitely a great place to go – pre-booking highly recommended!
