10. July 2013: Ristorante L’Angolo di Casa
The smell of the “ravioli al brasato di Vitello al burro versato” (EUR 13.00) already tickled my nose when I walked by – so I had to turn to enter this little place. The ravioli were absolutely tasty and my hopes were up after the first course! Unfortunately, they were not really fulfilled when the …
… “fritto di Mare con calamaretti, scampetti e zucchine alla julienne” (EUR 18.00) were served. While the “Zucchine alla julienne” were definitely tasty, the actual seafood was pretty much just overfried and therefore there was not much more than “fried” to taste.
While the food was only so good, I must say that the place itself is quite small but also quite nice. The flexibility of the waiters is also quite impressive. I think we walked in around 11:15pm and althoug they obviously did not really want to cook anything for us, they set the table for us and provided fair service overall. Friendliness is obviously not their strongest point but at least we got some food. The prices for the food are quite high for Milan – but at least the beverages are fine: double espresso for EUR 3.00, a bottle of water for EUR 3.00 and a bottle of Masi, Campofiorin, 2009 for EUR 30.00. The cover charge for EUR 4.00 is also quite high. Overall, the place is fine, the service does its job, the food is varying in quality depending on the dish but fine overall and while the prices for the dishes are rather steep, the prices for the beverages are fine!
